Impressions are formed about a person the first time contact is made. This era of dating is a ground breaking experience for us, as we have many more dating options than the previous generations. Internet dating has become a favorite choice among Calgary singles; it is relatively inexpensive, if not free, and can be done any time of the day or night. This flexibility in finding a mate can be a positive experience when used correctly.
Making a good first impression in the internet dating world may be a daunting task for some, but for others, it is a welcome change from the world of speed dating and short introductory services. The most important factor for both men and women, in having an excellent first impression is your profile photo, or photos if you prefer. Your profile picture is the very first thing people look at, and many singles won’t even bother viewing your profile without a quality picture.
Both sexes agree that the profile picture(s) should be of the dater alone, and not in a group of people. As well, your shots should include not only a facial photo, but also one that shows your full body. It is suggested that the photos be current and taken within the past 6 months, and be of semi-professional style rather than a quick mirror snapshot. Webcam pictures are not considered to be high quality enough for a favourable first impression.
